Says source of video circulated online being verified, ‘Acuber Books international’ publication tenders apology for portraying ‘prominent leader’ wrongfully

Srinagar, Apr 27 (KNO): Amid controversy over objectionable content in a textbook, Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department Saturday clarified that no such book was prescribed or developed by the board. In a post on X, School Education Department, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) also said that no such book or content has been developed by the NCERT. "There is some objectionable content page from a book being circulated on social media. As verified, from the textbooks prescribed and developed by JKBOSE, there is no such content in JKBOSE textbooks. Moreover, no book having such content has been developed by NCERT, nor has it been prescribed in any of JK schools," it said in a post on X. It also said that the department was verifying the source of the video that was circulated on social media so that the law enforcement authorities can take strict action. Administrative secretary for School Education Department, Piyush Singla told KNO that it has already been clarified that JKBOSE or NCERT has not prescribed such objectionable content in any book. "We have issued a statement. Now law enforcement authorities are doing their job," he said. Meanwhile, Director of ‘Acuber Books international’ publication has tendered apology for wrongfully portraying some prominent leaders. In a communique, the director of the publication has said it has tendered apology for Inaccurate labeling in Q-Connect Books by (ACUBER BOOKS INTERNATIONAL) “We write to you with utmost sincerity and regret regarding the recent controversy surrounding our publication's portrayal of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. It has come to our attention that labelling him among the 'most evil men in history' is not only inaccurate but also deeply offensive to many individuals and communities,” it reads. The Acuber Books International director also said that the organization acknowledge the gravity of their mistake and recognize that such mischaracterizations not only undermine truth and justice but also perpetuate harmful stereotypes. “We understand the importance of rectifying this error swiftly and unequivocally. On behalf of Acuber Books International, We extend our sincerest apologies to all those who have been affected by this oversight. It was never our intention to spread misinformation or contribute to the propagation of harmful narratives,” it reads. It also said that the organization in response to this issue was taking immediate steps to rectify the situation—(KNO)
